Under the bridge

At the base of the 59th Street Bridge, this guard station is deteriorated from lack of maintenance.  It has been locked up and forgotten by the city.  However, the bars on the door have been bent and the room appears to have been accessed for who-knows-what nefarious activities.  Here are some pictures of the interior.  Whoever or whatever has been living there probably wouldn’t take kindly to visitors after hours, but joggers and dogwalkers pass the area occasionally.  Hopefully they haven’t crossed paths with the resident of this dilapidated room in the darkness since the area is quite deserted and far from where anyone could hear their screams.
